Wesley Urban Mission: Together we can change our city. Peter's story: recovery from alcohol addiction. In these episodes of our weekly broadcast the Rev Dr Keith Garner meets some inspiring staff, guests, people we labor with and musicians. We give an archive of our communications to the media on Wesley Mission’s programs, activities and milestones. The Wesley Report presents new findings and recommendations on homelessness, financial stress, mental health and children and families. We look back at Wesley Mission’s life over the year, marking the growth, challenges, milestones and achievements. For over 200 years Wesley Mission’s commitment to its Christian faith has guided us to encourage and advocate for the maximum vulnerable members of our society. We’ve pioneered a different range of services that address the needs of the total person, not just their stylish challenges. Thanks to more than 2,00 staff, almost 4,00 volunteers and many supporter sin addition to potent Federal and New South Wales Government partnerships these services now cater to a broad spectrum of the community, from children, youth, and families, to earlier people and carers, to anyone struggles with financial or domestic challenges, homelessness, addiction or mental health issues. This change is certain for Wesley Mission as we are now strongly positioned to earnings from increased funding to permit us to remain and exaggerate our vital work.

Congregations nurture the spiritual, social and educational growth of members, gracious people to engage theologically and biblically with the life of the church. Wesley Central Mission continues to make looking behind homeless families an integral segment of its services. His vision is of a city church that reaches to the edges of society. Wesley Mission also recognizes 120 years of caring for children and young people through Wesley Delmar and begins plans for a celebration event to take deposit premature after year to mark the milestone. The highly publicized event helps to elevate the issue of homelessness in the community. Wesley Mission’s heart for the marginalized is felled by a belief that God’s heart is for the impoverished and his desire is to look after them as the book of Psalms conveys: Because the needy are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise, says the Lord. Throughout Wesley Mission’s history and the history of the church Wesley Mission grew out of, the Central Methodist Missionserving people in the heart of the city has been a constant feature. We labor toward justice and a better life for all people. All of Wesley Mission’s services from counseling and mental health services through to our hospitals, employment, aged care, family and disability services are grounded in models of best practice and are committed to keeping abreast of the latest research. Wesley Mission also believes in providing tools, resources and skills development opportunities to all those we labor with including those who are unemployed, families, young people, previous people, people with disability, homeless people and anyone else who seeks our services. Earlier moving to Australia to take up his stylish role in 2006, Rev Garner had more than 25 years ministry experience including the leadership of some of Britain’s largest Methodist churches encompassing their community services and serving on the uppermost councils and boards. Keith has been involved with the Uniting Church for almost 40 years. Chris is responsible for the delivery of Wesley Mission’s community services including aged care, disability services, homelessness programs, conference and educational services, out of home protection programs, mental health hospitals and programs, and child and family services. He has worked at Wesley Mission for 13 years. Wesley Mission takes vast protection to ensure that those we protection for and labor with are given a lofty smooth of service. In relation to our religious activities, the employer of staff is Wesley Congregational Life. We will continue to be known as Wesley Mission in the community. We aid young people who are disadvantaged to connect with other young people, encourage them to find a deposit to live and get assist to learn the life skills necessary to transition successfully from youth to adulthood. We produce care, accommodation and lifestyle services for earlier people including programs to enjoy an active and fulfilled life, promote within the home at every level of need and community living at Wesley Seniors Living. We donate people with disability access to life skills development, integration support, employment services, community and income promote and respite services ensuring they and their families can come their potential. The Hills Family center offers release family urge services for any family caring for children from birth to 12 years of age. Wesley Mission provides a range of services for children, young people and families. Wesley Family centers were established out of the recognition that the best way to concern for children was to labor with the entire family. Building powerful and resilient families by teaching parenting skills, providing kid development programs, Out of Hours School Care and offering hasty intervention work. Wesley Mission has been occupied with the maximum marginalized people in Sydney for more than 200 years. Launched in 2014, Wesley Youth Hope is a Government funded program for children between the ages of nine and 15 which Wesley Mission operates. The program is a instinctive extension of our Wesley Brighter Futures program, a cutting edge hasty intervention program that is also designed to urge families to stay together and address and resolve concerns for children whose safety, welfare or well being are at risk. Wesley Mission has a assets of experience in active with children and their families, looking out for young people and providing services tailored to their special needs. Over the years our youth labor was broadened in scope to encompass services such as counseling, accommodation, homeless services, employment training, adventure camps, church youth groups, community outreach programs and premature intervention programs.
